This city is awesome. This race was fantastic. And Austinites make THE BEST spectators. If you ever want to run a race, run Austin.
To the uniformed servicemen giving high fives, THANK YOU.
To the ladies giving out animal crackers and tissues, THANK YOU.
To the church choir who stood outside their building after the Sunday service and sang to runners, THANK YOU.
To the amazing volunteers, THANK YOU.
To the medic team giving out vaseline, THANK YOU.
To my amazing running buddy and personal pit crew, THANK YOU.
To my best running cheerleader and photographer, THANK YOU.
I would not have finished this race without this support. Now I can gracefully retire from this ridiculous distance. Two races were more than I ever expected to finish, and I am so grateful for the experiences. I will not declare the reasons for my love of the half marathon right now, but it is by far a much better distance for me.
