Welcome to Neat and Nutritious! I’m Stephanie, a Registered Dietitian currently living in Austin, Texas, trying to figure out a plant-based lifestyle for myself while sneaking healthy foods into my husband’s meat-loving diet.

I have a strong passion for aesthetics in everyday life that has translated into beautiful, organized living and healthy, delicious cooking. In an attempt to give up artificial and refined food, I am on a journey to change what I love into something even better.

This blog started as a way for me to record the modifications I made to recipes in my vast cookbook library as I attempted to clean up our diet.  I made a project out of cooking through a book each week, researching and experimenting with healthy modifications as I went. Once my diet changed, it morphed into a more creative kitchen experiment, as I tried to make vegan meals for myself, while still making my meat-loving husband happy.

In the past few years, I have run 5 marathons, started my own nutrition business, and started to pare down our belongings, craving a more healthy, creative, and minimalist lifestyle. I recently had my first child and now also get to navigate the wonderful, messy world of plant-based Baby Led Weaning. My hope is to encourage other women and mamas through my journey, sharing nutrition knowledge, real life experiences, and delicious food, on my quest for a simple, fulfilling life.
